Athens-Clarke County’s electorate’s disgraced left-wing attorney oversaw hateful sanctuary area initiatives where Laken Riley, 22, was brutally murdered.
Athens-Clarke and Oconee County District Attorney Deborah Gonzalez lost to Independent Kalki Yalamanchili, who received almost 60 percent of the ballot, Fox 5 Atlanta reported.
Gonzalez, a self-described “progressive”, was first elected in 2020 after receiving approval from left-wing businessman George Soros. When Riley, a nursing student at the University of Georgia, was brutally murdered while on a run on a wooded trail near her school, the county ( and country ) was wracked to the core. The following morning, government detained Jose Antonio Ibarra. Ibarra is a Venezuelan immigrant who illegally immigrated to the state in 2022.
The Athens City Council passed a decision in 2019 loving immigrants” of all positions”, according to Fox 5 Atlanta. The capital released a letter in December of 2023 stating Athens-Clarke County supports “undocumented” newcomers. Additionally, recent state plan states the sheriff’s office does not maintain a 48-hour detainer for Immigration and Customs Enforcement, according to Fox 5 Atlanta.
The policy states that” [the illegal migrant ] shall not be held solely on the ICE detainer ] if a detainer is issued but is not accompanied by a federal warrant or court order signed by a federal magistrate or federal judge,” according to the report.
Ibarra was recently detained in New York for “reckless destruction of a kid and acting in a way that harms a child,” according to my partner Jordan Boyd.
Ibarra was able to escape to a region that forbids law enforcement from obtaining immigration status and also provides legal assistance to illegal border crossings, according to Boyd. ” It was there that he murdered an innocent British,” he said.
Vice President Kamala Harris lost her race in part because of her treacherous position on the frontier, which past president Bill Clinton acknowledged directly contributed to Riley’s death.
” You had a case in Georgia not very long ago, did n’t you? A young lady who had been killed by an immigrant was the subject of an advertisement about it. Yeah, well, if they’d all been properly vetted that probably would n’t have happened”, Clinton , said.
Harris, however, asserted that the border was safe for years and that he had been the frontier emperor who had viewed the invasion with a blind eye.
