After Donald Trump’s crushing victory over Kamala Harris, US President Joe Biden pleaded with Americans to reduce the political tempo on Thursday, saying in a diplomatic handle that he would guarantee a peaceful transition of power.
In a somber speech from the White House, Biden added that the outcome if” set to sleep” concerns about the legitimacy of the US electoral system, which is fueled by Trump’s rejection of his own 2020 defeat by the Democratic. No matter who you voted for, I hope that we can see each other not as adversaries but as other Americans, which is something I hope we may do. Bring down the temperature”, Biden said.
As Biden arrived in the renowned Rose Garden, the team erupted, cheered, and clapped. The 81-year-old dropped out of the race against Trump in July and handed the Democratic candidacy to Harris, his vice-president. Biden claimed to have called Trump to thank him and promise that there would be a “peaceful and peaceful” transition. Trump had turned down Trump’s invitation to Biden’s opening in 2021.
The incoming president even urged supporters to remain optimistic following Trump’s re-election, which is expected to end some of Biden’s policies. ” Setbacks are obvious. Giving away is terrible. Remember, a battle does not mean we are defeated”, he said.
Biden’s statements stood out to billionaire Trump, whose neglect of his election victory four years ago led to the violent assault by Trump’s backers on the US Capitol on January 6, 2021.
For what would be their first meeting since Biden’s fatal conversation effectiveness against Trump in June that forced him out of the race, Biden has invited Trump to join at the White House.
