Many Americans began looking into options for relocation abroad as Donald Trump’s subsequent expression for president in the US election of 2024 approached.
Google analytics revealed remarkable increases in emigration-related searches. Queries for “move to Canada” increased by 1,270 per cent within 24 hours after East Coast polls closed on Tuesday.
Queries about relocating to New Zealand saw a almost 2, 000per share fall, while Australia-related questions increased by 820 per share.
By later Wednesday night on the US East Coast, emigration-related scans for all three places reached unprecedented ranges, according to a Google consultant.
The Immigration New Zealand site recorded around 25, 000 new National visitors on November 7, an increase of over 1,500 visitors on the same day the previous year, despite Google’s release of no specifics.
Immigration legal experts are experiencing a boom in requests, news organization Reuters reported.
” Every half hour there is a new message enquiry”, said Evan Green, managing partner at Canada’s oldest immigration laws company, Green and Spiegel.
The boom in interest in immigration mirrors the emotion seen after Trump’s 2016 success. This time, however, the Republican’s re-election follows an particularly divisive campaign, with almost three-quarters of US citizens expressing concern that British politics is at risk, according to Edison Research exit polls.
Citizens express worry about increasing polarisation between Democrats and Republicans regarding societal problems, including race relations, gender equality, academic curriculum, and reproductive rights.
” Trump is certainly the motivation, but it’s also political. Some people do n’t feel at home in that kind of society anymore, despite the fact that the majority of Americans did so. People are afraid they are going to gain privileges”, said Green.
The Internet community “r/AmerExit” has become a system where lots discuss possible destinations, visa requirements, and job opportunities. Following Trump’s victory, some people expressed concern for national security and personal security.
Heather Bell, an immigration specialist at Vancouver’s Bell Alliance, noted these problems were common among Americans seeking American immigration even before the vote.
Immigration to Canada is challenging, particularly now that the government is reducing the number of temporary and permanent immigrants entering the country, she said.
But, Bell indicated that several properly complete the transfer process.
