Entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy on Sunday backed President-elect Donald Trump‘s government’s mass deportation ideas, characterising it as a “pragmatic” process and suggesting it aligns with the opinions of many Americans.
Ramaswamy acknowledged that the US’s legal immigration system was broken, but he added that the first move should be to bring about the rule of law in a practical approach during an interview with Jonathan Karl on ABC’s” This Month.”
Is our lawful immigration system ineffective? Yes, we do, but I believe the first step will be to restore the rule of law and conduct it in a very logical manner, according to Ramaswamy, as quoted by Politico.
He argued that the majority of Americans would prefer for those who had entered the country illegally and had committed a crime to be deported, describing it as the largest size imprisonment.
” A logical way. Most Americans agree with me on the point that those who have entered or have committed a crime should not be allowed to leave the region. That would be the largest density deportation”, he said.
Ramaswamy said that those who entered the country fraudulently in recent months “have no place in this state,” but he did not provide specific information regarding the number of possible persecution. He argued for a “pragmatic” view that prioritizes the imprisonment of those who committed crimes, a maneuver he thought would lead to a mass deportation with a historically significant impact.
Ramaswamy also demanded that all federal funds that support illegal immigration, including aid to shelter cities, be stopped. He believes this would motivate self-deportation. ” No an ounce, not a share of government investing should go to support this”, he said. ” No to shelter locations, not to federal assistance for people in this country improperly, and we’ll see a huge number—by the millions—of self-deportations as well”.
Ramaswamy did not rule out deporting people who were covered by the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals ( DACA ) program, despite acknowledging Trump’s commitment to respecting the dignity of Americans. ” I say this as the child of constitutional newcomers to this country, the happy child of legal immigrants to the United States of America”, he explained. That prohibits you from staying in this region if your first offense against the law was committed upon entering this country. You are not permitted to enter the United States.
Ramaswamy remained open to the possibility of pursuing the empty seats in the Ohio Senate, including the possibility of serving in the Trump administration. ” There are a handful of great options on the table”, he said. ” I want to affect the nation the most,” he said.
