Following his appearance in Washington from China, Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto congratulated Donald Trump on his political victories via phone. The visit took place on Tuesday, before Prabowoo’s set meeting with President Joe Biden.
Prabowo, who advocates for a natural foreign policy stance, just wrapped up conversations with President Xi Jinping during his first overseas visit since taking office, shared a picture of the dialogue with Trump on his social media platforms.
The recorded dialogue captured Prabowo saying,” Wherever you are, I’m willing to fly to thank you physically, sir”, to which Trump responded,” We’ll do that, whenever you want”.
The Indonesian President’s department confirmed that the call came on Monday when he arrived in Washington. They did n’t respond right away when questioned about potential in-person meetings with Trump.
During the discussion, Trump characterised his electoral victory as remarkable, saying,” We had great success. The most effective in over 100 years, they say”.
The trade included Trump’s confirmation of Prabowo’s position and verbal abilities, prompting the former special forces chief to reply:” All my training is American, sir”.
When Prabowo expressed concern regarding the assassination attempt during Trump’s campaign, Trump replied,” Yes, I got very happy. I just so happened to be in the proper position and headed in the right direction.
Also, Prabowo’s Washington mission included meetings with members from American firms, including Freeport McMoRan and Chevron, where he encouraged investment possibilities in Indonesia.
