Timothy West, one of Britain’s most esteemed and functional players, has passed away at the age of 90, his household said on Wednesday. He is survived by his family of 61 years, Prunella Scales, celebrated for her part in Fawlty Towers.
He was well-known for his functions on stage and screen, including those on the soap opera Coronation Street and EastEnders, as well as the TV shows No Going Up and Bedtime and dramas Bleak House and Gentleman Jack.
His kids, according to BBC, announced in a speech that he passed away peacefully while he was sleeping and surrounded by “his friends and family at the end.”
Born in Bradford in 1934, West was the sons of players Lockwood West and Olive Carleton-Crowe. Julian Glover and Dave Prowse, who later became popular for their roles as Darth Vader in Star Wars, were stars who he studied at Bristol Grammar School.
West’s expert theater career began at the Wimbledon Theatre as an intern level boss.
In the 1960s, he made his acting debut, and he won praise for his dramatic roles in Richard II and Edward II.
