Authorities in Lea County, New Mexico, US, have discovered up to 20 people heads in a home, possibly linking one to a person missing since 2019.
The analysis began when a native reported an “unsettling face” with a gentleman, Cecil Villanueva, whom they had given a walk on November 5, according to the Lea County Sheriff’s Office. The citizen told police that Villanueva, who was carrying two sacks, “made disturbing statements” during the trip and discarded items from the vehicle, some of which appeared to be human vertebrae.
Officers discovered tooth bits in the Villanueva neighborhood after the resident reported the incident. The bits were identified as people, according to a physician.
A subsequent search of Villanueva’s Jal mansion, linked to “rumors of mortal keeps”, uncovered more tooth fragments, including a skull piece and a bone, according to the Lea County Sheriff’s Office. Three days later, authorities discovered” 10 to 20″ human bones during a subsequent search of the house.
All remains were sent to the Medical Investigator’s Office in Albuquerque for verification.
Angela McManes, 43, was last seen in May 2019; police believe this identification may be connected to her departure. McManes’s next known residence was near Villanueva’s address.
” Government are working diligently to determine the relationship between the bones and McManes, as well as other possible patients”, the sheriff’s department said, as quoted by USA Today.
The investigation is ongoing. The Lea County Sheriff’s Office has urged people with information to email them at 575-396-3611 or Lea County Crimestoppers at 575-393-8005.
