Whoopi Goldberg claimed an NYC bakery refused to serve her birthday desserts because of her political beliefs which are anti-Trump. On Wednesday’s episode of “The View”, Goldberg and co-hosts Sunny Hostin, Alyssa Farah Griffin, Joy Behar and Sara Haines celebrated Whoopi’s 69th birthday. Goldberg said she didn’t want to name the bakery that declined to take her offer due to her left-leaning political views.
The shop, Holtermann’s Bakery on Staten Island, which denied Goldberg’s state and claimed their boilers were failing, was identified by Entertainment Weekly as Holtermann’s Bakery on Staten Island. ” I said to Whoopi,’ I the n’t do it right today,'” Holtermann said.” ‘ We have so many issues going on with my stove,’ because the building is from 1930, but, when she called me, I had no idea]if we had ] get baking everything”. Whoopi Goldberg placed the sweet treats on the November 13 episode, but Hollymann claimed the baker did n’t want to make a commitment.
The cake — a trifle-esque behave with levels of sponge cake, Bavarian milk and fruit — was one of Goldberg’s grandmother’s favorites growing up, the celebrity explained. ” Today, I should tell you, Charlotte Russe has no political affiliations, and the place that made these refused to make them for me”, the artist said.
” They said that their furnaces had gone along, all kinds of things, but persons went and got them anyway”, Goldberg explained,” which is why I’m not telling you who made them”.
Despite the heater problems, the shop owner claimed a woman did arrive to pick up about 50 Charlotte Russe snacks in the morning of November 13. She claimed she had no idea who the person was or whether she had any ties to Goldberg or The View.
