Elon Musk, the technology billionaire with close ties to US President-elect Donald Trump, held discussions with Iran’s UN Ambassador to ease tensions between Tehran and Washington.
According to The New York Times on Thursday, one of Iran’s most eminently wealthy individuals described the conference with Ambassador Amir Saeid Iravani as “positive.”
On Monday, they convened for more than an hour at an unknown location, according to the news. Iran’s UN objective and the Trump transition team did not immediately confirm the meeting, with the Egyptian quest declining to comment.
If verified, this meeting might indicate that Trump is truly interested in diplomatic ties with Iran more than sticking to the stricter course of several Democratic liberals and Israel.
Elon Musk, who owns Tesla and X, has often accompanied Trump, and is said to have had phone conversations with foreign leaders, which demonstrates how influential he is.
During his previous president, Trump abandoned the Iranian nuclear deal established under Barack Obama’s management, implementing a “maximum force” plan that included persuading other countries to ban Iranian fuel.
Trump, who claims to be a skilled negotiator, has supported Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who has authorized military action against Iran in addition to Israel’s ongoing fight with Hamas, in his plan.
On Thursday, Egyptian President Masoud Pezeshkian, known as a mild within the administrative creation, told the visiting UN nuclear guardian captain that Tehran aimed to fix concerns about its “peaceful” nuclear program.
Iran’s adviser requested Musk follow US sanctions exemptions and create business operations in Tehran, according to a source from the Egyptian international ministry.
