After Typhoon Usagi late affected the country on Thursday, the country is now in danger of further damage as a result of Typhoon Man-yi’s proximity to the country.
Typhoon Man-yi, with breezes reaching 150 kilometers per hour, is predicted to make landfall on Catanduanes Island later Saturday. The beach, which is expected to be instantly hit, is being evacuated by authorities.
” We expect hundreds more to leave in the time before landfall”, said Roberto Monterola, procedures captain of the Catanduanes civil protection office. Some of the evacuation centres will be residing with relatives who have homes made of stronger components, he continued.
As rescuers continue their efforts to reach those stranded in northern Luzon as a result of Typhoon Usagi’s effects, this imminent typhoon arrives. The cyclone caused flood, uprooted trees, and significant damage in Chino province. After reducing its wind speed to 110 miles per hour on Friday, Usagi’s strength became a significant tropical storm.
In the past three months, the Philippines has experienced at least 163 fatalities as a result of five major hurricanes. The United Nations has appealed for$ 32.9 million in aid for the worst-affected areas. This time, the Philippines will experience 15 typhoons, with Man-yi possibly coming in 16th.
