According to AAA, the average price for a gallon of regular gasoline has dropped to$ 3.084 on Friday to stop the year, which is its lowest level since January 2024.
Both Friday’s gas prices were less expensive than one week earlier, when normal gas was typically$ 3.099. Both prices were unchanged from Thursday. Prices are even lower than they were a fortnight ago, when oil was$ 3.203 per gallon. Since the start of the summer, gasoline prices have been declining throughout the nation.

Maryland
The average cost for a gallon of regular gasoline increased substantially to$ 3.167 from$ 3.11 on Thursday. A litre of regular gasoline in the position cost$ 3.047 a month prior. Up until the last couple of days, charges in Maryland have trended downward for the last quarter, with a few exceptions. Despite the recent increase, Maryland residents still pay less than$ 3.242 for a gallon of regular gas despite the recent price increase.
Virginia
For the past week, gas prices in Virginia have been hovering around$ 3 per gallon. On Friday, the state’s average price for a gallon of regular gas increased slightly to$ 3.015, a rise from Thursday’s price of$ 3.012. A week ago, a gallon of regular gasoline in the state was$ 2.996 per gallon. Prices are lower than they were a fortnight ago when standard gasoline costs$ 3.129 per gallon in Virginia.
Delaware
On Friday, Delaware‘s gas prices increased by over$ 3 per gallon to$ 3.068, which is also higher. This was over six percent higher than Thursday’s cost of$ 3.006 per quart. Until recently, oil prices in the First State had remained in the same range, fluctuating between$ 3.00 and 2.95 per gallon. A litre of regular gasoline in the position cost$ 2.952 a month prior. However, despite the recent increase, Delaware gas prices are significantly lower than they were a fortnight back, when a gallon of regular gasoline expense$ 3.188.

Washington, D. C.
Like every other area in the Delmarva region, gas prices increased in Washington, D. C. on Friday, with the average price for a gallon of regular gas rising to $3.259. This was the slightest rise from Thursday’s price of $3.256. Gas prices in the nation’s capital have fluctuated between $3.25 and $3.30 over the last month. For example, a week ago, the average price for a gallon of gas in Washington was $3.274 per gallon. And a month ago the average price for a gallon of gas in the nation’s capital was even more expensive with a price of $3.305 per gallon.
