JD Vance, the newly elected vice president of the US, on Saturday criticised news agency Associated Press ( AP ) for allegedly attacking Pete Hegseth, president-elect Donald Trump‘s pick for secretary of defense, over a Christian motto tattooed on his arm. Vance accused the firm of displaying “anti-Christian hatred” in the topic.
According to Vance, who was quoted as a possible “insider risk” by AP Pentagon editor Tara Copp on social media platform X, Hegseth, a former Army National Guard member and host of Fox News, was referred to as an “insider risk” by a friend service member. Additionally, Copp shared a connection to the supporting AP review.
Due to a scar he has that is associated with white supremacists, Pete Hegseth, a veteran of the Army National Guard and Fox News host nominated by Donald Trump to guide the Department of Defense, was identified as a potential “insider risk” by a friend company member, according to Copp’s post on X.
Reacting to Copp’s article, Vance called it “disgusting anti-Christian prejudice” from AP and said that the entire media firm should be “ashamed” of itself.
” They’re attacking Pete Hegseth because he has a Christian motto on his finger,” they say. The AP may be ashamed of itself for this repulsive anti-Christian prejudice, according to Vance.
Pete Hegseth is facing criticism for a shoulder tattoo that some say is associated with a white supremacist organization. ” Deus Vult,” a term that has been associated with the Crusades and has just been adopted by some white nationalist teams, is on the tattoo.
Recently, in July, AP retracted an essay that fact-checked says alleging JD Vance had written about “having intercourse with a chairs” in his autobiography, Hillbilly Elegy.
