According to a declaration from the White House, former US president Joe Biden criticized the implementation of hundreds of North Vietnamese soldiers to Russia during a meeting with Xi Jinping in Lima, Peru.
Following their phone call on April 2, 2024, Biden and President Xi Jinping made up their next meeting, according to the statement.
The two leaders had a sincere, productive discussion on a range of diplomatic, regional, and global problems, including sections of cooperation and places of change.
The two officials “reaffirmed the need to address the risks of AI systems, increase AI safety and global cooperation, and encourage AI for the good of all,” according to White House, citing a sincere and constructive discussion on AI and co-sponsorship of each other’s proposals on AI at the UN General Assembly.
The two leaders “affirmed the necessity of maintaining animal control over the choice to use nuclear weaponry,” according to the White House. The two officials also stressed the need to take into account all possible risks and take precautionary and dependable steps when developing AI systems for the military.
On Taiwan, President Biden underscored that the United States ‘ one China policy remains intact, guided by the Taiwan Relations Act, the three Joint Communiques, and the Six Assurances.
He reiterated that the United States opposes punitive alterations to the Taiwan Strait, that we anticipate cross-Strait disagreements to be settled peacefully, and that the universe is interested in maintaining stability and peace there. He demanded that Taiwan’s weakening military activity be stopped.
Creating on the Bali and Woodside meetings, the two leaders stressed the importance of properly managing dynamic aspects of the relationship, preventing issue, maintaining open lines of communication, cooperating on areas of shared interest, upholding the UN Charter, and all countries treating each other with respect and finding a way to sit alongside each other calmly.
Both leaders reiterated the importance of maintaining a proper channel of communication to properly manage the relationship and called for continued use of political, military, law enforcement, commercial, and financial channels.
