Do you know any of the memes that feature a puzzled face while a complicated math problem is being solved? I imagine that’s what I looked like while reading the Associated Press content on, of all things, Pete Hegseth’s makeup now. At least, that’s what I think it was supposed to be around. It was a trifle convoluted and full of assumption.  ,

Let’s get to the article’s title, which reads” Trump’s Pentagon pick had been flagged as achievable’ Insider Threat’ by a fellow service part.”  , Woo! Sounds terrible, right? Is the Department of Defense headed for a private terrorist-type organization soon to take over?  , We greater keep reading.  ,
The first column reads,” A member of the Army National Guard veteran and Fox News host nominated by Donald Trump to guide the Department of Defense, was flagged as a potential” Insider Threat” by a friend service member due to a tattoo he has on his shoulder that is associated with bright racist parties.”  ,  ,
Delay, what? A scar? That’s the hazard? Well, they said it’s associated with white supremacist parties, so maybe it truly is poor. Maybe it’s a symbol or a consuming cross. Crap, Pete, I had high expectations for you. The AP inserts a strange object on January 6 before telling me about the scar or doing any real monitoring. Hegseth has previously stated that he could n’t work at Joe Biden’s inauguration in January 2021 because of a cross tattoo on his chest, but I’m smart enough to assume that’s not the tattoo we’re talking about.  ,
Ultimately, we get to the devastating information. ” This week, but, a other Guard member… shared with The Associated Press an email he sent to the unit’s leadership flagging a unique tattoo reading’ Deus Vult’ that’s been used by bright supremacists, concerned it was an indication of an’ Insider Threat'”. The message from this obnoxious dude, which is from January 2021, is finally shared, which I can only explain as mental gymnastics.  ,

According to what Hegseth’s former partner, this man evidently wrote an email to the command claiming that Hegseth had a scar on his arm that could not be a sign that he is a white supremacist. The email then goes on to detail how the tattoo might represent a possible” White Supremacy meaning,” why extremist organizations would do it, how it violates military law for service members to have “extremist” tattoos, and how Hegseth is most likely an” Insider Threat.”  , Did you catch all of that? That’s quite the step he made it.  ,
The AP next piles everything Hegseth has ever said or done on top of this four-year-old message full of debate in order to simply record the information about what would otherwise be a non-story to anyone with any common feeling. The article does n’t really effect on the fact that both of the tattoos are generally thought of as Christian images and have been for centuries. There are references to January 6, everyone’s favourite liberal dog bell, and more white power.  ,
The Spanish word” Deus semper” means” God wills it,” and it was a rallying cry for Catholics during the Crusades. The Jerusalem Cross, which is tattooed on Hegseth’s stomach, even dates back to the Crusades and was a symbol of the Kingdom of Jerusalem. Have some radical organizations used these images in recent years? Yes. Does that imply Hegseth is an radical? No. Observe, AP? If you were just reporting the facts, that was all you definitely needed to say.  ,

It’s similar to assuming a person has a rainbow tattoo when you’re queer, but it’s more likely to believe the person is a Christian and that it represents the promises that God has in the story of Noah’s Ark, or that they simply enjoy rainbows. Oh wait, that’s kind of what the left does, is n’t it — assigns all to a party based on their own made up conditions? How’d that work out on Election Day, by the way? But I digress…  ,  ,  ,
Regardless, Vice President-elect JD Vance came to Hegseth’s defence on X, calling the post “anti-Christian intolerance”.  ,
Hegseth chimed in to:  ,
Appear, I’m not here to get a Hegseth advocate. In truth, I have no idea much about him other than that he has a very remarkable family and that all of my adult friends find him gorgeous. Trump is only interested in learning about the people he’s nominating for his cabinet because I do n’t believe he can do anything wrong. Some of them I like, some of them I know nothing about, and some of them have me wondering if he really is doing some” God-tier-level trolling”, as Senator John Fetterman suggested.  ,
But the only thing I learned from this AP article is that the liberal media does n’t like him, which, quite frankly, moves him up a notch in my book. Oh, and that three independent journalists must produce a distorted post that ignores the majority of the details. No question an advertisement appeared asking me to donate while I was attempting to understand the stupid content.  ,
