According to AAA, the average cost for a gallon of regular gasoline decreased to$ 3.071 on Monday. According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration, this is the lowest average rate for a quart of regular gasoline in the nation in 2024 and the least expensive regular value since June 2021.
High gas prices, over$ 3 per gallon, have plagued the Biden administration since June 2021. Oil prices started to drop afterwards in the year after reaching record peaks in 2022. Unfortunately, President Joe Biden was burdened with high fuel costs during most of his word, and fuel prices hovered in runs that were the highest in the world’s history.
Earlier this year, gasoline prices began to lower quickly. Gas prices are still higher than they were in the previous few months and primary terms of President-elect Donald Trump, despite this string of pump-related declines. However, fuel prices continue to fluctuate across the country, and it remains to be seen what oil prices will be under a minute Trump presidency.
Now, Hawaii has the most expensive gas costs in the country, costing$ 4.572 per gallon. However, Oklahoma has the least expensive fuel in the country, costing$ 2.568 per litre. Virginia
Virginia‘s gas prices remained in line with the current trend, hovering between$ 3 and$ 3 per gallon. On Monday, the state’s average price for a gallon of regular gas decreased slightly to$ 3.005, a drop from Sunday’s price of$ 3.008. The average cost in Virginia was$ 3.05 for a gallon of regular gas on Friday. A litre of regular gasoline in the state cost$ 2.984 a month prior. Prices are lower on Monday than they were on a month ago, when regular gas was priced at$ 3.103 per gallon.
Maryland
The typical price for a gallon of regular gasoline in Maryland is today$ 3.204, which is a significant increase from the previous increase. Since Friday, the typical cost of a gallon of regular gasoline has increased to$ 3.167. A quart of regular gasoline in the position cost$ 3.043, an increase of over 16 percent in seven days, a year prior. Up until recently, charges in Maryland have trended downward for the last month, even momentarily falling to under$ 3 per gallon. Despite the recent increase, Maryland residents who paid$ 3.17 for a gallon of regular gas are still paying less than they did a month earlier.
Delaware
Gas prices in Delaware also increased since Friday to over$ 3 a gallon, with a new price on Monday of$ 3.119 per gallon. This was over five percent higher than Friday’s value of$ 3.068 per quart. Until recently, oil prices in the First State had remained in the same variety, fluctuating between$ 3.00 and 2.95 per gallon. A gallon of regular gasoline in the position cost$ 2.956 prior to that time. It is now more expensive for a gallon of regular gas on Monday than it was a month ago, when it was$ 3.092. This is a result of the rising gas prices in Delaware.

Washington, D. C.
Gas prices in Washington, D. C. on Monday remained the same as it was on Friday, coming in at $3.259. Gas prices in the nation’s capital have fluctuated between $3.25 and $3.30 over the last month. For example, a week ago, the average price for a gallon of gas in Washington was $3.262 per gallon. Comparatively, a month ago, the average price of a gallon of gas in the nation’s capital was higher, at $3.292 per gallon. However, all the prices were within the aforementioned range as the intense price fluctuations experienced by residents in Maryland and Delaware do not appear to be carrying over to gas prices in Washington, D. C.
