Up until now, Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro’s main claim to fame outside of the Keystone State is that Kamala Harris initially considered him for the vice presidential seat on her famous 2024 Democrat seat, but he finally chose to support Tim” What A Guy” Walz in order to avoid the indignation of the left-wing troops that have since Hamas massacred 1,200 Israelis on October 7, 2023. Today, however, Shapiro deserves props for that rare of behavior among Democrat lawmakers: doing the right thing. He has really opposed attempts to sway Bob Casey’s Senate election by bucking his personal group.  ,

Following the justices ‘ decision to not count faulty mail-in ballots in a contentious recount, which gave Republican Party officials a victory, according to Fox News ‘ report from Monday. This is important, as Democrat county leaders in Pennsylvania have been defying the judge’s order not to matter mail-in votes that lacked deadlines or had another abnormalities.
The state Supreme Court then instructed the boards of elections in Bucks County, Montgomery County, and Philadelphia County to” SHALL COMPLY with the prior decisions of this Court in which we have clarified” the rules governing which ballots could be counted and which could n’t.
Contrary to most Democrats, Shapiro braved the storm that might result from his choosing not to prioritize his celebration over ethics and any distinctive regular of right and wrong, declaring:” Any insinuation that our laws may be ignored or do not matter is careless and does damage faith in our political process. The rule of law counts in Pennsylvania… Both parties ‘ parties must regard it with both their language and their actions.
The rule of law? A Democrat claimed that the rule of law still applies when it conflicts with the party’s values. Has Shapiro’s horse epaulets been already removed? Given that Bucks County director Diane Ellis-Marseglia promised to continue to challenge the court next month, saying:” People violate laws wherever they want,” these issues are entirely reasonable. So, for me, if I violate this legislation it’s because I want a judge to give attention. There’s nothing more crucial than counting seats”. Well, there is. Making sure that the people you’re counting are true vote, no fake ones, is what is more crucial than counting votes. However, taking that into account would n’t have led to the results Pennsylvania Democrats desired, so it was off the table.

But not for Shapiro. He declared his intention to” remain working to protect our politics and , the votes , of all available Settlers”. A Democrat may have been the first to publicly declare his purpose to “protect our politics” in the history of the modern Democrat party, rather than simply saying that he would be working to “protect our politics” or, to put it more simply, our state.

RNC Chair Michael Whatley commented acidly:” Heartening to view. Governor Shapiro suddenly realizes that he supports the rule of law once Democrats realized that even ignoring the Pennsylvania Supreme Court ca n’t garner enough votes to win. Better late than never”.
Really. Josh Shapiro does n’t have to have had a road-to-Damascus conversion moment. He sees that the authoritarian and lawless path that all too many Democrats appear to possess embraced without giving a second thought is a viable path. It is heartening much. The better for him if his new attitude against the Pennsylvania vote-counting practices reflects how the wind is blowing all over the nation.  ,
It’s very heartening to see how the Democrats have vehemently opposed voter ID laws, as well as election integrity laws like those requiring mail-in elections and enforcing the law prohibiting non-citizens from voting, and other similar measures. They almost seem to be aware that they may drop if American elections are fair. Josh Shapiro deserves our praise and love for standing up for the continuation of America’s status as a free nation, regardless of his motives. There are far too some of them right now.
