In response to the national election, Mayor Francesco Columbu claimed that the website was created especially to draw American citizens. He claimed that Americans are the best way to revitalize his area and that he adores them.

The village is now offering three tiers of accommodation: Free temporary homes to certain digital nomads, one-euro homes in need of renovations, and ready-to-occupy houses for prices up to 100, 000 euros ($ 105, 000 ).
With people leaving the area for work, the town has only 1150 occupants.
Prior to now, the village had begun the Ollolai system for online nomads.
