Volodymyr Zelenskyy, president of Ukraine, expressed concern over the country’s potential battle in its conflict with Russia on Tuesday.
” If they cut, we will – I think we will lose”, Zelenskyy said in an interview with Fox News, acknowledging that while Ukraine has its own resources, he said” We will fight. We have our generation, but it’s not enough to prevail”.
The declaration comes amid continuing debate in the United States over continued financial support for Ukraine, a position that President-elect Donald Trump, a popular skeptical of such aid, has often criticised.
Trump has yet to list certain steps that he needs to take to put an end to the issue, despite his commitment to do so.
This year, Trump’s allies even voiced strong objections to President Joe Biden’s decision to allow Ukraine to build US-supplied long-range weapons in attacks on Russian soil, calling it a “dangerous intensification”.
Zelenskyy emphasized the crucial part of “unity” between the US and Ukraine, citing the possibility that Trump might influence Russian President Vladimir Putin to decide the outcome of the conflict because he is “much more powerful than Putin.”
He claimed that any quality “also depends greatly on the United States of America,” stating that” Putin is weaker than the United States of America.”
With Russia gaining ground and harmony conversations on the horizon, Ukraine remains cautious, watchful of a possible risk in any potential settlement.
