Although his notes made some sense of confusion or attempted humor, US President Biden welcomed the 2024 NBA champion Boston Celtics on Thursday at the White House.
During his handle, Biden turned to the team and asked,” You’re the Celtics, right”? This drew gentle laugh from the audience.
He continued with light-hearted opinions, saying,” They only showed up. I do n’t know where the hell they came from”.
In his statement, Biden disclosed his Secret Service script brand. ” All of you may never realize this, but my Secret Service name is’ Ancient.’ For true, because I’m Irish”, he shared. ” Everyone in the room behind me has British hearts.” This prize honors this illustrious European Celtic, and I take particular pride in it. To all you Celtics, thanks”.
He made a traditional relationship, noting that John F. Kennedy was the first leader to welcome the Celtics to a 1963 game.
” Part of that beautiful history, celebrating the power of sports to take people together. It’s a history that I’ve had the honour to proceed. No matter the activity. Key principles are what these warriors all share. … Hard work, cooperation, regard and the understanding that no one of us is always as great as all of us can be when we’re up”, Biden remarked.
Biden took a baseball that he dribbled and passed to people in the crowd while ascending the stairs after receiving a personalized Celtics jersey.
The event, held on the South Lawn, was attended by the 2023-24 Celtics group, mentors and rights group.
Importantly, the 2023 hero Denver Nuggets missed their White House attend due to reported “scheduling problems”, according to The Denver Post.
The Golden State Warriors of 2021 and 2022, who previously won the NBA championship, visited Biden’s White House in January 2023. Trump is expected to take business by the end of January, so the Celtics ‘ attend was scheduled for November.
