BADAKHSHAN: An earthquake of magnitude 4.4 jolted the Badakhshan area of Afghanistan in the early hours of Friday, the National Centre of Seismology (NCS) reported.
The NCS reported that the earthquake struck at 06 :35 am Indian Standard Time ( IST ) in the early morning.
As per the National Centre of Seismology, the disaster occurred at a level of 82 miles. It was recorded at the Latitude 36.32 N and Longitude 71.37 E in the Badakhshan place of Afghanistan.
The location of Badakhshan, Afghanistan, is a mountainous area vulnerable to natural disasters.
On the Richter scale, two earthquakes struck the area earlier this year, with magnitudes of 4.4 and 3.9.
According to the National Centre of Seismology, there have been more than 10 disasters in the area over the past month.
