A person in Wisconsin, US, who vanished in August after staging a drowning affair, has been found dead and is communicating with officials from Eastern Europe. Ryan Borgwardt, missing since August 11, contacted the Green Lake County Sheriff’s Office on November 11. Borgwardt left his three kids and their wives for good.
Judge Mark Podoll confirmed Borgwardt’s existence by recording him speaking at a press conference.
” The excellent news is we know that he is dead and well”, Podoll said. The bad news is that Ryan has n’t yet made a decision to move back home.
Borgwardt was spotted wearing an orange T-shirt, with bare windows and a door recently revealed in the background. Without grinning, Bogwardt appeared to be recording the picture on his cellphone.
” I’m safe and secure, no problem”, Borgwardt said in the video. ” I hope this works”, he added, speaking from what appeared to be an apartment.
Since August 11 when he texted his wife at around 11 p.m. claiming to be heading to shore after kayaking, Borgwardt has n’t been heard from since. In waters deeper than 200 feet ( 60 feet ) deep, his car and truck, along with his overturned yacht and life jacket, were later discovered near Green Lake.
Borgwardt informed authorities that on the day of his disappearance, he traveled approximately 50 miles ( 80 kilometers ) from his home in Watertown to Green Lake, where he capsized his kayak, discarded his phone in the lake, and paddled an inflatable boat to shore. He chose Green Lake for its level, as it is the deepest in Wisconsin.
After leaving the lake, Borgwardt rode an electric bike approximately 70 miles ( 110 kilometers ) overnight to Madison, took a bus to Detroit, and then traveled to Canada, where he boarded a plane, according to the sheriff.
The removal triggered a search-and-rescue activity lasting more than 50 times.
Judge Podoll suggested Borgwardt’s steps were motivated by “personal issues” but declined to elaborate more.
First, Borgwardt’s disappearance was investigated as a possible sinking. But, answers after suggested he faked his death to meet a girl in Uzbekistan, a former Communist nation. Three weeks before his departure, researchers discovered that he had a new card.
The deputy declined to comment on the person’s identity.
In October, American officials flagged Borgwardt’s moniker in their system a moment after he was reported missing. His card was reported missing or stolen by authorities, and they obtained a new one in May. Plans to travel to Europe and attempts to deceive officials were revealed by an examination of his computer. The hard travel had been replaced, and browsing information cleared the moment he disappeared. However, authorities recovered passport photos, complaints about transferring money to international banks, and contacts with a girl in Uzbekistan.
In January, Borgwardt had taken out a$ 375, 000 life insurance policy for his family, the sheriff said. Officials connected with a Russian-speaking lady by using the laptop’s contact information to reach Borgwardt. Is she the same Uzbekistani lady, or not?
No claims have been filed against Borgwardt as of yet, despite the sheriff’s suggestion that he might face charges for obstructing the investigation into his departure. Whether Borgwardt profits is up to his “free will”, Podoll said.
Borgwardt’s safety has been improved, but his whereabouts and ideas are still a mystery to the government. With the upcoming holiday time drawing near, Podoll hoped Borgwardt may make a comeback.
Borgwardt apparently worries about how the neighborhood will respond if he travels. ” He thought his plan would work out, but it did n’t go as expected”, Podoll said.
Podoll speculated that Borgwardt is supporting himself worldwide, noting,” He’s a bright guy”.
As the research progresses, the Green Lake County Sheriff’s Office is still with Borgwardt.
