On the Republican chair, they are the two superstars with the most severe hits. They are almost observant, keeping one another informed” just in case.” Because, in full-contact politics,” just in case” will be here sooner than you think.

In one spot, at the tender age of 40, is JD Vance. He is a military veteran who served in Iraq, graduated from Yale, has three kids, and has quickly risen to the top of the GOP hierarchy.
In the other part, at the tender age of 46, is Ron DeSantis. He is a military veteran who served in Iraq, graduated from Yale, has three kids, and has quickly risen to the top of the GOP hierarchy.
But despite their surface-level resemblance, the two are strikingly different persons.
Right then, President-elect Trump is the undisputed king of MAGAtropolis. He runs the country, the throne is his. but in four times?
Well, it wo n’t be the meek who inherits the earth.
Instead, it’ll almost certainly be a defense veteran who was deployed in Iraq, graduated from Yale, has three children, and had a meteoric rise to the top of the rates of the GOP.
But which?
It’s a story that’ll be lurking in the dark background throughout 2025 ( and beyond ). But “palace drama” is a psychotic media pole, with Trump term-limited and unable to work again, it’s only normal that every conversation, photo-op, and trip to New Hampshire and/or Iowa by Vance and DeSantis will be comprehensively scrutinized.
Vance and DeSantis are n’t the only two contenders, of course. There are still the pre-Trump greats who sought the brass ring in 2016— Sen. Cruz (R-Tex. ) and Sen. Rubio (R-Fla. ) — plus new breed, post-Trump politicians like Gov. Glenn Youngkin (R-Va. ). And there’ll definitely get a handful of political newcomers, a la Vivek Ramaswamy, who are emboldened by Trump’s private case.  ,

That’s the one thing we know for sure: From longshots to very-longshots to VERY-very-longshots, there wo n’t be a shortage of GOP presidential candidates.  ,
There always are.
But two names wheel much larger than all the sleep: Gov. Ron DeSantis of Florida, and Ohio Senator JD Vance, our second evil leader.
The Trump presidency has a lot of Florida loans. An unusually large number of government people will become coming from the Sunshine State: The senator, plus his chief of staff, his secretary of state, and his national security advisor. Trump’s unique nominee for attorney general — Matt Gaetz — was a Floridian, while is Pam Biondi, the replacement candidate.
When Rubio is confirmed secretary of state, Gov. DeSantis will select his successor. Pay close attention, because it’s good to be the first game shift of the 2028 GOP political culture. Scott ‘ choices and who he rejects may be eminently important.
If DeSantis taps Lara Trump, it almost certainly means he’s making a shift for the GOP nomination. Although DeSantis is still well-regarded by MAGA Nation, his “disloyalty” in running against the man who made his career has n’t been forgotten.  ,
Making up by naming Lara Trump as the next senator would be a dream come true.
However, JD Vance would seem to have the insider’s trail to the 2028 GOP election. After all, who better than the evil leader to be MAGA’s successor visible? But that inside record could eventually be illusory.

First of all, the V. P. is a useless position. It makes the legislator look weak and submissive: Kamala Harris not absolutely shook the shame of being Biden’s henchman. And so, she always emerged as a believable, credible leader.
There’s no assurance that Vance may enter the vice president looking strong and encouraging. Some do.
Next, Trump might not even accept Vance. Traditionally, presidents have refrained from endorsing their veeps during the primaries: Reagan did n’t do it for Bush in 1988, and Obama did n’t do it for Biden in 2020.
But Biden undoubtedly endorsed Harris, and Trump has never been indebted to history. The MAGAfather may put his weight on the size if he wants to. And how eagerly will he be to speak up about the other candidates ‘ positions also depend.
As a consequence of Trump stocking his government with so much Florida skills, DeSantis has always stood larger, stronger, or more powerful in Florida GOP lines. With the local rates depleted, DeSantis simply grows larger in appearance.
Even DeSantis will reward a devoted soldier and/or donor and give them Rubio’s seat if his 2024 campaign failure has soured him in presidential politics. Or even he’ll select himself. A senate chair is a VERY valuable resource. ( Some even offer to pay for it ) DeSantis, a bright, forward-thinking politician, will undoubtedly take into account all options and then choose a course of action that maximizes the political return.

After all, that’s what wise officials do.
If Lara Trump is the option, invest in sealers and large carriers: DeSantis will get up in 2028, stampeding towards a heavy battle with the V. P. elect.
( Maybe the best military veteran who served in Iraq, graduated from Yale, has three children, and has a meteoric rise to the top of the GOP win. )
