For the occasion of the 77th National Thanksgiving Turkey display, President Joe Biden pardoned two birds at the White House.
At 11 a.m., the service will start at the South Lawn.
As part of a pre-Thanksgiving custom that dates back to President Abraham Lincoln during the Civil War, Biden may forgive Peach and Blossom, both Minnesotan birds.

The second pardon of a turkey, ahead of the trip for which the animal is the traditional major food, was conducted by President George H. W. Bush after his father, President Ronald Reagan, became the first to use the word “pardon” in the meeting in 1987.
Biden may travel to New York City on Monday night to take part in a Friendsgiving function following the service at the White House.
