Eight children at a Santa Paula, California elementary school were allegedly molested by an assistant principal and class consultant, according to the charges against them on Friday.
After allegedly molesting eight individuals at McKevett Elementary School, 42-year-old David Lane Braff, Jr. was detained on Friday and charged with 17 misdemeanor counts of “lewd works against a child under 14 years old,” according to a press release from the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office. On Monday evening, Braff was scheduled to appear in court.
The assistant superintendent and college advisor are accused of” a number of specific allegations and aggravating elements in the criminal complaint, including that the crimes involved planning and style and that the defendant’s children were particularly prone,” according to the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office.
According to Friday’s information transfer, Braff worked at McKevett Elementary School as a school counselor from 2015 to 2019. In a class company, Braff allegedly molested eight children between the ages of six and ten. The Santa Paula Police Department and Braff were the subject of an investigation that the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office started next month.

Before his arrest on Friday, Braff was employed as an assistant director and college consultant at the Ingenium Charter Middle School in Los Angeles, according to the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office. Additionally, it is thought that Braff has volunteered at unknown youth organizations and worked at various California schools.
The Santa Paula Unified School District said in a speech on X, previously Online, that it was aware of the recent arrest of a previous worker in 2018 regarding allegations of sexual abuse that occurred while the person was employed with the District.
The Santa Paula Unified School District explained that the neighborhood” took quick action” and launched an internal investigation into the incident. Additionally, the city collaborated with law enforcement “at the day of the allegations” against the previous school counselor.
