A plane crash in the white wilderness of the Catskill Mountains, claimed the lives of a captain and a rescue dog he was transporting, while two other dogs on panel survived, as officials reported.
Seuk Kim, 49, was flying from Maryland to Albany, New York, on Sunday night when his little plane crashed in a rural area near Windham, about 35 miles west of Albany.

Kim, a voluntary aircraft from Springfield, Virginia, was transporting three rescue dogs for a non-profit company.
According to Greene County Sheriff Peter Kusminsky, initial studies show Kim died at impact. Prior to the collision, Kim requested permission to raise her level a few meters in the face of bad visibility and turbulence.

The fall is being looked into by the Federal Aviation Administration and the NTSC. About two miles from the nearest road, volunteers discovered the wreckage later on Sunday in a sleetened forest.
