According to a Russian state site, Vladimir Putin signed a law allowing new military recruits to pay debts on Saturday in Ukraine.
According to reports from organizations, the law allows those who sign contracts with the Defense Ministry to fight in Ukraine for at least a year beginning on December 1 to receive forgiveness of up to 10 million roubles ($ 95, 835 ) of debt arrears.
All potential volunteers who have been subject to debt collection trials before December 1 are subject to the law.
Russia has encouraged military recruitment by rewarding those who want to fight in Ukraine with exceedingly high salaries, some of which are many times the average pay.
The tactic has prevented another round of the common mobilization that led to a massive exodus from Russia in September 2022, allowing the army to enhance its force in the conflict area.
Russians have assumed higher consumer debt levels since the Kremlin’s order to send tens of thousands of troops to Ukraine in 2022, despite the central bank’s decision to raise its key rate to 21 % in October.
