Frederick County, Maryland, Sheriff Chuck Jenkins slammed the” self-aggrandizing” remarks made by Frederick Mayor Michael O’Connor who said that he would combat President-elect Donald Trump‘s immigration ideas of mass deportations by providing legal resources to workers.
” Like many of you, I understand the doubt that a Trump presidency brings”, O’Connor said in a media conference on Nov. 21. ” We refuse to aid and abet outside companies attempting to apprehend, arrest, or replace any occupants from our group”.

On Wednesday, the Frederick County judge weighed in on O’Connor’s remarks about fighting Trump’s emigration work.
” The governor is really dumb in making those claims. He’s been an humiliation to Frederick City”, Jenkins said in a radio interview. He is acting selfishly and claiming to be more critical than he really is.
” This is not his problem. It is not his problem. Honestly, it’s put the Frederick authorities office and]Police Chief Jason ] Lando in a bad position here”, the deputy added.
The judge confirmed that the president cannot halt the county’s immigration and customs police presence.
” There’s nothing he can do about that”, Jenkins said.
O’Connor added that he intends to approach the city council for legal advice in order to maintain that” they have the legal assistance they need to stand solid and stay in this area they have chosen to call house.”

A 287 ( g ) agreement between ICE and the sheriff’s office allows local officers to impose federal immigration laws that could lead to deportation and detention in the Maryland county. The 287 ( g ) program and the sheriff have been a target and the ire of pro-open borders advocates.
The judge said that he has authority in Frederick County, Maryland to deliver transportation, travel, work areas, and staging areas that help ICE agents make arrests.
Mayor of Denver Mike Johnston made the announcement last year that he would go to prison to prevent any potential mass deportations by Trump’s administration.
” I’m not frightened of that and I’m even never seeking that”, he said.
Tom Homan, the governor of Denver, just said he was willing to put him in prison.
” Appearance, me and the Denver governor, we agree on one thing — he’s ready to go to jail, I’m willing to put him in prison because there there’s a act. It’s Title 8 United States Code 1324 ( iii ). And it’s a criminal if you knowingly surrender an illegal alien to immigration officials and conceal it from them. It’s even a criminal to inhibit a federal law enforcement official”, Homan said.
Sheriff Jenkins noted that the president of Frederick faces possible jail time as well because he defied immigration laws.
” Then he may not have to engage but he certainly is impede”, he said. ” That’s where it becomes a situation: does he place himself at risk of getting arrested? Which he could. It would n’t be by me. It would be the national government”.
Jenkins claimed that the mayor’s statements,” with this false idea that he’s going to be able to guard them,” “have done nothing more” than to ask more judicial aliens and perhaps more gang members to Frederick City.”
The judge criticized O’Connor’s pledge to ask the town council for immigration legal funds, saying,” He has no right to assure taxpayers to fund their legal protection.” No government is currently stricken with money, according to the statement. Everybody’s struggling, our law enforcement, everyone is struggling for income”.
Jenkins said he would “love to view” the president” sitting in a space” with the people of Laken Riley and Rachel Morin, subjects of immigrant murderers, and have him “explain to them” why “he feels the way he feels”.
” He’s always been placed in that position — and I hope he always is — of having a family member brutalized, murdered, or raped by an illegal. I hope it always happens to anyone every again”, he said.
The president has “what they call” Trump Derangement Syndrome,” according to the judge.

Jenkins encouraged Gov. Kristi Noem (R-SD ), Trump’s nominee for homeland security secretary, to consider” standing up the task force model, the 287 ( g ) program, as it existed years ago”.
Homan just called Jenkins” an British patriot”.
With the influx of Democrats fleeing Montgomery County and other major metropolitan areas like Washington, D.C., Frederick County was once a Democratic district in eastern Maryland, but it has since grown from purple to purple.
