Pennsylvania was commonly believed to be the tipping point of 2024 before we were aware that Donald Trump would win the battleground state. Many people believe that Trump’s ability to appeal to a wider expanse of working-class Americans has resulted in the red state this year as well as Michigan and Wisconsin. No only did Trump win the state again, but also long-term former Democrat Sen. Bob Casey Jr. was defeated. Kamala does had won Minnesota, but it was a bit too close for comfort.  ,

All of the indications point to a potential shift that may make Pennsylvania the following Ohio, a strong red state in the middle of the state.
According to the Associated Press,” The Democrats ‘ drubbing in Pennsylvania this year’s election has sown doubts about whether Pennsylvania might be resuming the ranks of up-for-grab swing states for a right-leaning existence more like Ohio’s,” according to the Associated Press.  ,
Some Pennsylvania Democrats say 2024’s costs are, at least in part, due to voters motivated especially by President-elect Donald Trump. Many of those voters wo n’t show up if Trump is n’t on the ballot, the theory goes, leaving Pennsylvania’s status as the ultimate swing state intact.
” I do n’t think it’s an indicator for Pennsylvania”, said Jamie Perrapato, executive director of Turn PA Blue, which helps organize and train campaign volunteers. When these folks cast ballots in primaries other than for the presidency,” I’ll believe it.”
Pennsylvania’s position as the world’s premier battleground state in 2024 was undeniable: political efforts dropped more wealth on campaign advertising than in any other state, according to statistics from ad-tracking strong AdImpact.
Plenty of that money was spent by Democrats, but their defeat was across the board. Democrats in Pennsylvania lost its 19 presidential electoral votes, a U. S. Senate seat, three other statewide races, two congressional seats and what was once a reassuring advantage in voter registration.

For their part, Democrats are n’t going to sit back and let that happen.
A wave of progressive Democrats that have taken office in Pittsburgh in recent years, including Bethany Hallam, said the party can make things right before Pennsylvania transforms into Ohio. She warned against interpreting 2024 as a one-time blip, arguing that it would be wrong to assume Trump voters will never be heard from again.
” They’re going to be more empowered to keep voting more”, Hallam said. They finally cast their ballots, and the winner was chosen. … I do n’t think this was a one-off thing”.
Daniel Hopkins, a political science professor at the University of Pennsylvania, told the AP that  , Pennsylvania’s political trajectory is difficult to predict, as parties adapt to evolving dynamics. Republicans have consistently been competitive statewide despite Democrats ‘ prior state registration advantages. Democrats should be concerned about Trump’s ability to gain support from young and Hispanic voters, Hopkins said.

I have faith that Pennsylvania will become a consistently red state with the help of conservative activist Scott Presler actively registering new Republican voters there. But, make no mistake about it, Democrats are n’t going to give up Pennsylvania so easily.
