One , Oklahoma , man was arrested and another was issued a citation for hunting monkeys in a common area, authorities said.
Officials responded , Nov. 23 , at , 3: 45 p. m.  , to reports of people shooting in the area of , McClure Park, according to a , Nov. 25 , media release from the , Tulsa Police Department.
McClure Park , offers many people amenities including a park, outing areas, basketball and volleyball courts, and an 18-hole disc golf program— and somewhat “watchable wildlife”, according to the state’s tourism website.
According to specialists, two men were found carrying BB guns and their auto contained “at least six deceased monkeys in the trunk.”
Soldiers also found two guns inside the car, authorities said.
The people” took monkeys home to cook them,” the men told officers, and they were going there to “hunt squirrels” for the guys.
Police claimed that shooting with an air rifle inside town restrictions and in Tulsa and city parks is against municipal laws.
According to authorities, one of the men, a former felon, was detained for allegedly attempting to hunt without a license and in possession of a firearm after being previously found guilty of a misdemeanor.
According to authorities, the other man was given a reference for carrying out illegal looking.
