President-elect Donald Trump wasted no time releasing his takes for Cabinet posts, sending the country into a panic over several different options. Some notable characters, but, were left out, especially those who held roles in Trump’s past leadership.
Kelly Loeffler for crops minister
Former Georgia Sen. Kelly Loeffler was commonly thought to be Trump’s collection for agriculture minister. She’s then the co-chairwoman of Trump’s subsequent annual committee alongside real estate mogul Steve Witkoff, who was just named Trump’s Middle East minister.
After the Capitol attack on January 6, Loeffler voted in favor of validating results, but he ultimately chose to do so. In addition, she supported Trump in the Georgia legal case by giving testimony as a witness in a 2022 Fulton County grand jury.
Her support of and proximity to Trump’s inner circle was n’t enough for her to snatch the USDA secretary role, though. Brooke Rollins was announced as Trump’s Cabinet get on Saturday.
Nikki Haley for U. N. embassy
Nikki Haley, Trump’s primary challenger in the Republican primary, was the governor of South Carolina from 2011 to 2017 before she was selected by Trump to function as America’s 29th ambassador to the United Nations from 2017 to 2018.
If Trump were to win the presidency, Haley repeatedly stated throughout her plan that she would not like a Cabinet place. Nevertheless, she was officially consulted for her view on some of the government’s ability Cabinet picks.
In a post on Truth Social just weeks after the vote, Haley claims to have kept her word that she never wanted a Cabinet position in the first place but that Trump still had the right to reject her as any sort of solution for his.
With Haley out of the question, Trump picked Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY ) to be his U. N. ambassador. Stefanik earned a reputation for being an independent words for ages, but she back Trump in the wake of his 2019 election results, cementing her position as a nationalist.
Ben Carson for HUD minister
Ben Carson, a retired doctor and 2016 presidential candidate, was the director of housing and urban growth throughout Trump’s first management.

Carson also appears in the Heritage Foundation’s” Project 2025″. His name appears at the end of a portion that is creating housing policies, demonstrating that he never deviated too far from enclosure issues as a result of Trump’s 2020 defeat to President Joe Biden.
Scott Turner, a former Texas state congressman and former NFL player who served as the White House Opportunity and Revitalization Council’s executive director, was appointed to the Cabinet placement by Trump in his first administration.
Mike Pompeo, the new secretary of state
Mike Pompeo served two different functions in Trump’s second management: CIA director and secretary of state. At the time of his earliest session, Pompeo was in his fifth expression as a representative in Kansas‘s 4th Congressional District. Before serving the remainder of Trump’s 70th secretary of state, he was promoted to CIA chairman from 2017 to 2018.
Pompeo was no cherished by everyone in Trump’s near group. Trump may not believe Pompeo, according to Republican strategist Roger Stone, who advised him to consider him a government choice.
In the same Truth Social blog, Trump attacked Pompeo for challenging his status as secretary of state, which he used to deny Haley. Trump selected Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL ) to take up the Cabinet position instead.
Christopher Miller for security minister
Christopher Miller, a retired Army Special Forces commander, took over as acting defence secretary for the last two decades of Trump’s president. Miller’s failure to quickly summon the National Guard following the Capitol strike on January 6 was widely criticized. In later 2023, Trump spoke highly of Miller’s work as defence minister, leading some to think Miller was being considered for the work a year earlier. Pete Hegseth, a senior of the Army and co-host of Fox and Friends Weekend, was given the role.
