In a alleged fraud case involving 190 million pounds, Bangladeshi authorities are attempting to assault wife of former prime minister Imran Khan, Bushra Bibi, for failing to appear in court.
According to a PTI report, authorities attempted to apprehend Bibi at her home in Peshawar on November 23, but the attempt failed because she was absent when the National Accountability Bureau ( NAB) team and police arrived.
After she missed eight judge appearances, a justice of integrity issued non-bailable permits for Bibi on November 22. The NAB sent a staff to arrest her because of the warrants. Bibi now resides in Peshawar, the capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, where Khan’s social gathering, PTI, holds power.
Khan and Bibi are accused of using 190 million weight, or 50 billion Pakistani Rupees, to defraud. These funds, which the UK’s national crime agency had previously agreed to give to Pakistan as part of a deal with a property mogul, reportedly serve as funds for Pakistan’s national treasury. Authorities contend that the business who assisted Bibi and Khan in establishing a university actually used them for their own gain.
Bibi, a director of the Al-Qadir Trust, is accused of benefiting from the colony and acquiring 458 hectares of property for Al-Qadir University in Jhelum. After nine months in prison related to a distinct event known as the Toshakhana situation, she was released on bail next month.
