Brazilian-born type Luciana Curtis, her father, Henrique Gendre, and their 11-year-old baby endured a terrible 12-hour theft ordeal after being ambushed by military men in São Paulo.
On Wednesday night, the family was kidnapped while leaving a cafe in the premium Alto do Lapa neighborhood.
They were forced into their vehicles and driven to a house in Brasilândia, a city of São Paulo, where they were held immediately, according to Gazeta. The wooden house apparently had only a bed, a bathroom, and a sink.
During their prison, the crew transferred funds from the child’s bank accounts. Authorities claimed that after professional anti-kidnap police teams launched a search, the captors left the family early on Thursday.
” The equipped criminals took the patients hostage when they approached the restaurant.” During the hunt, the group fled and left the family behind”, authorities confirmed in a statement, as reported by The Sun.
According to GB News, the struggle came to light when the child’s eldest child, who had stayed house, realized they had never returned and alerted family, who contacted the police. Once freed, Curtis, Gendre, and their baby flagged down visitors for help.
A Curtis spokesperson told local press,” The community has been released and they are safe and well.”
Curtis, 47, is the child of American business Malcolm Leo Curtis and a Portuguese teacher. Although she frequently travels between So Paulo and London, she generally resides in New York.
She became a well-known type after winning the 1993 Supermodel of the World opposition in Brazil. Over her profession, Curtis has graced the sheets of Marie Claire and Cosmopolitan and worked with companies such as H&, M, Harrods, and Victoria’s Secret.
She also appeared in L’Oréal’s world plan alongside Beyoncé.
Curtis was featured on ELLE Brazil’s cover earlier this year in honor of Portuguese celebrities who have won over international recognition.
