President-elect Donald Trump‘s collection of Lori Chavez-DeRemer as Labour Secretary is drawing strong criticism, not only for her social posts but also for her promotion spending patterns.
The Oregon congressman, who lost her re-election pay this November, apparently spent tens of thousands of dollars on luxury hotel stays and car companies during her plan, raising brow among her detractors.
According to Federal Election Commission records reviewed by The New York Post, Chavez-DeRemer’s plan shelled out over$ 56, 000 on lodge sits between February 2023 and October 2024.
The costs included$ 6, 290 at the five-star Phoenician Resort in Scottsdale, Arizona, which boasts a three-level swimming with a view of Camelback Mountain. Another high-profile remains included the Potawatomi Casino Hotel in Milwaukee, a Hilton in Wisconsin, and perhaps a Miami Ritz-Carlton.
In addition to hotel charges, the campaign spent at least$ 4, 345 on car and driver companies, with one Utah business, Snow Country Limousine, receiving$ 731.50. Around the same day, her campaign even spent$ 1, 512 at the magnificent St. Regis Deer Valley destination, known for its ski-in, ski-out services.
These discoveries come as Chavez-DeRemer faces pushback from conservative Republicans, who attribute her a” Republican in name simply” according to her aid for pro-union guidelines.
As per The New York Post, one GOP inside quipped,” All this useless spending, son is she prepared for the Department of Labor”,.
Chavez-DeRemer is one of the few Republicans to back the PRO Act, a union-supported act aimed at overturning right-to-work legislation in over two hundred states. The policy, which eventually failed, would have made it easier for workers to unionise. Sean O’Brien, the president of the Teamsters Union, presumably supports her candidacy because she serves as a bridge between the labor and business sectors.
Trump’s candidacy, which Trump claimed would help to advance British workers, has sparked disagreements within the Republican Party.
She is supported by different contentious initiatives, including changes that benefit public sector employees and legislation that gives undocumented immigrants access to citizen.
