WASHINGTON: The family of Pete Hegseth, Trump’s pull for secretary of defense, wrote him an internet in 2018 saying he had constantly mistreated women for decades and displayed a lack of personality. ” On behalf of all the women ( and I know it’s several ) you have abused in some way, I say… get some help and get an honest look at yourself”, Penelope Hegseth wrote, stating that she still loved him.
” I have no regard for any person that belittles, lies, cheats, stays around and uses people for his own power and personality. You are that man ( and have been for ages ) and as your family, it pains me and embarrasses me to say that, but it is the sad, sad truth”.
Penelope Hegseth admitted to writing an apology message to her son at the time in a telephone interview with The New York Times on Friday. At the time when he and his family were going through a really tough divorce, she claimed she had fired off the original message “in frustration, with emotion.”
She defended her child in the discussion and rejected the feelings he had expressed in the opening contact regarding his actions and how he treated people. ” It is not true. It has never been true”, she said. She added:” I know my son. He is a good parents, partner”. She called it “disgusting” to publish the articles of the first message.
In the days since Trump chose him as the head of the Pentagon, a veteran of the Iraq and Afghanistan war, concerns have surfaced about Pete Hegseth’s treatment of women. During Senate assurance sessions, the theme might be under scrutiny.
In light of his marriage, attention has been drawn to his character and management, particularly in the eyes of a human in charge of the military, where active-duty personnel are subject to adulterer charges under the Uniform Code of Military Justice.
Another question is how the senators will respond to a murder report against Hegseth that was presented to police in Monterey, California, in October 2017. The plaintiff has not formally pleaded not guilty. Hegseth has claimed that a person who shared a sexual encounter with him made up his false accusation. He quietly paid her a colony a few years later- just that, according to his attorney, he wanted to protect his job as weekend anchor at Fox &, Friends.
On April 30, 2018, Penelope Hegseth sent her brother a troubling email. He was in the middle of a controversial divorce from his second family, Samantha, the mother of three of his children. As a result of her husband’s structure of adultery dating back to his first marriage, Samantha Hegseth filed for divorce.
Pete Hegseth’s mom wrote in the email that she was upset about his treatment of Samantha, writing:” For you to strive to attribute her as’ unpredictable’ for your own advantage is disgusting and aggressive. Do you still feel decencyful?
She said,” She did not request or merit any of what was given to her by your hands.”
” Neither did Meredith”, Penelope Hegseth added, referring to his first wife.
The same evening Hegseth sent her brother, Samantha, a duplicate of her email. A person with relations to the Hegseth community provided a copy of the internet to the NYT. Hegseth promised to email her son an apologetic follow-up email on Friday, but she did n’t respond right away.
