President-elect Donald Trump is asking President Joe Biden to end an auction that would allow states to resell land along the southern border of Arizona.
As far back as August 2023, Biden’s management has been selling boundary wall components, according to the Texan. Trump demanded that Trump cease selling the wall’s components during a press conference on Monday.
Trump claimed in his lengthy response to the change process that the Biden administration made a “deal with the United States to get [the materials ] for coins, and then they called us and they said, ‘Do you want to buy it back,”’ ’ ”
The roof “really worked, and it worked properly, and it ’s quite expensive to perform, and I’m asking Joe Biden to prevent his people from giving it away, ” Trump said. “It’s anything that people can’t perhaps think is happening. So maybe Joe will be able to put a stop to it. ”
According to a statement from the Defense Department, Congress required them to create a plan to use, move, or donate an unfilled border wall under section 2890 of the macroeconomic 2024 National Defense Authorization Act. They claimed that southern border states were best suited to ask the other border wall materials, with California and Texas emerging as prospect buyers after requesting and receiving 60 % of the components. The remaining 40 %, they said, were sold to GOVPLANET to be auctioned off.
The U.S. no longer owns the items that are now being auctioned online through GOVPLANET. S. A protection official claimed that the government and DoD have no legal authority to understand the content or prevent any further resale of content it no longer owns.
Lt. Gov. According to Dan Patrick (R-TX ), his state will begin making plans to “give it to Trump” to purchase materials for the southern border wall. ”
I have a billion dollars in my bag to do it, Patrick said. I’ll go in and purchase everything. ”
Patrick claimed to have spoken with Gov. Greg Abbott (R-TX ) inquired about purchasing the elements, noting that the Texas Facilities Commission stated that the majority of the panels were covered in concrete and metal. ”
“Rest assured, if they sell any sections that make economic sense, we will get them and offer them to President Trump when he takes office, ” Patrick said.
Past Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey, who was in company during Trump’s president, called the sales “reckless. ”
By selling off components the Trump Admin will use to complete the wall, @JoeBiden is making a last-ditch effort to keep America’s borders available right here in Arizona. This determination from President Biden is foolish, does make Arizonans less secure, and should be reversed — quickly. https ://t. co/GRmVAvvEGc— Doug Ducey ( @DougDucey ) December 13, 2024
Art Del Cueto, the vice president of the Border Patrol Council, shared Ducey’s opinion and claimed that some agencies are upset that the auction is taking place. He claimed that selling the supplies is a waste of taxpayer money and government resources regardless of the motivation behind the auctions.

“All of it very much could be utilized, they had set down standing, pull it back up, and use it, ” Del Cueto said. “Instead, what are they doing? They’re selling it out.
“ When you have to start with the new administration, wanting to repair it, what are we going to have to do, ” Del Cueto continued. “You’re going to have to apply more taxpayer-funded income, which is crazy to me. ”
