The number of immigrants who have been detained after trying to enter the United States from Mexico has dropped to the lowest rates in more than 50 times, a sign that the White House has been taking decisive action to hinder illegal immigration.
Throughout most of President Joe Biden’s career, illegal border detention ranged from 150, 000 to 250, 000 per quarter.
The decline lasted through June when Biden took the lead in enforcing a new law to deport border crossings more than release thousands of people from the nation’s interior to await court hearings years away.
In total, 47, 536 unlawful immigrants were arrested last month, including 5, 778 alone children, 29, 332 one people, and 12, 426 who arrived with a family member.
