Kay Granger, the consultant from Texas, is officially residing in a nearby memory treatment facility. She has been missing seats in Washington for the past six months. Since July 24, 2024, she hasn’t cast a ballot in the Congressional district.
According to a report from The Dallas Express, the Republican agent with the longest tenure has been residing in a storage treatment facility for the past six months.
The Dallas Express investigated Granger’s presence, finding her region business closed and calling unanswered. Staff at the WestBend tower, where Granger’s area office is located, said that her team had packed up and closed the office before Thanksgiving.
A basic tipped off the release that Granger had been living at a nearby memory attention and assisted living facility after she was found wandering, disoriented, and confused in her past Cultural District/West 7th area, the report said. Two workers of the service also confirmed Granger’s citizenship. Granger’s candidacy for the election was never made public, though.
The agency’s assistant executive producer, Taylor Manziel, told The Dallas Express,” This is her house”.
Authorities raise concerns over Granger’s lack
Granger’s absence has sparked concerns among native government representatives and constituents, especially given essential votes cast on bills that require interim spending and other legislative issues.
Bo French, the Republican chair of Tarrant County, expressed concern for The Dallas Express, saying:” The CD-12 lack of picture is troubling to the least. At a time when exceptionally important seats are happening, including the debt ceiling, disaster relief, land costs, and frontier troubles, Kay Granger is nowhere to be found. The ratio in Congress is razor-thin, and the lack of a Democratic voting representing CD-12 disenfranchises 2 million people. We deserve better”.
Tarrant County resident Hollie Plemons also voiced worries about the situation, saying:” We need somebody there with their full powers. Pray Craig in first. That’s the option. That’s the right thing to do. She simply slipped away from a significant ballot. It wasn’t won or lost on one voting, but we still have to defend our country. It’s not about upset thoughts. She’s a common slave, we’ve thanked her for her services, but now she needs to retire”.
Social media’s response to Granger’s lack
Aside from leaders, social media users have even expressed concern over Granger’s presence. One person, Fairfighter, posted on X,” I’m hearing she’s in a storage care system. We need to own requirements. Members who miss three votes in a column without giving a justification for their financial situation may have their salaries and benefits frozen. This has to stop”!
Granger’s next recorded ballot
Granger’s next recorded ballot was on July 24, 2024, against an amendment related to a salary reduction for a government official. She is due to retire at the end of her current term.
