It’s safe to say that America has suffered considerably under the Biden-Harris management. The list of pains that the government has been subjected to has been nothing short of brutal. From a wide-open southern boundary to financial hardship.
There is one particular area of suffering Americans who care about the future stability of the United States should take note of: the defense, even though no organization has been spared from these extreme plans.
For the past four decades, America’s military forces have been undergoing a “reimagining”. The communist monsters in charge of the White House have prioritized shoehorning neo-Marxist philosophy into the company over the skills of America’s warfighters, causing troops to abandon fleet and dissuading fresh recruits from jumping aboard.
The United States ‘ security apparatus is now in a prone position as a result of these destructive policies. It’s crucial that the incoming Trump administration get the military back to where it once was in terms of destructive and effective combat. With unusual conflicts erupting all over the world and foreign adversaries becoming more aggressive.
Personnel is Plan
As any knowledgeable common knows, the strength of a war is only as good as its members. However for the Pentagon, convincing qualified men to join today’s services has become a nightmare.
Under the Biden-Harris management, every branch of the military ( with the exception of the Marine Corps ) has struggled to meet its interviewing goals. While all branches met their interviewing goals for FY2024, many of them dropped long-held enrollment criteria to reach them. The standard requirement for high school diploma or GED for cadets was eliminated, and the eligibility criteria for low-level candidates were decreased.
While identity media have attempted to blame the issue on Republicans, Brent Sadler, a senior research fellow for The Heritage Foundation’s Center for National Security, told The Federalist that the government’s ability to bring in new skill is generally a problem of its own making. He specifically highlighted the Biden Defense Department’s promotion of so-called “diversity, equity, and inclusion” ( DEI ) ideology, arguing the overzealous focus on racial and gender politics is “very divisive and counterproductive” to the force’s overall mission.
According to Sadler, these procedures are more geared toward” social engineering and cultural advocate desires than anything else aimed at bolstering our military’s strength, size, and lethal capability.” ” The only]branch ] that never had a]recruiting ] hit was the Marine Corps because they never visibly bought into this social agenda. And this is why Pete Hegseth was named, and will likely be, the next secretary of defense — to]refocus the military’s ] commitment to the soldiers, sailors, airmen]and make it ] a lethal force”.
The incoming Trump administration should “ban thought of culture and gender when it comes to martial applications and officers,” according to Will Thibeau, chairman of the American Military Project at the Claremont Institute, and make sure military officials are “making choices based on who is best for the jobs for which they’re hiring.” The Army veteran recently wrote a review for Claremont outlining how the government’s obsession with DEI philosophy is preventing it from being fully prepared total.
Let’s go back to the policy of the Truman era, which prohibited race from also being a category in private files. There was no package to examine, there was no entry for competition, it was just you and your abilities. And that’s the place to which we should transfer”, Thibeau said.
Both Thibeau and Sadler pushed for the reestablishing” criteria” in the military, with the latter more encouraging the incoming administration to “invest” more time and resources into its recruitment outreach efforts.
Forever Wars and Accountability
Although major, Sadler and Thibeau believe that the Trump administration needs to take one step more to restore public confidence in the military. The D. C. elite’s willingness to engage in international forever wars and political Pentagon management have done incredible damage to the organization.
Despite command having virtually no consensus on what success looks like, the United States military has been hampered by conflicts for decades in some Middle Eastern states. For needless activities have placed soldiers ‘ lives at risk, such as the Biden-Harris government’s foolish 2021 Afghanistan drawback that left 13 service members useless. No senior military figures have reportedly been held accountable for the tragedy, despite Trump’s pledge to “demand the resignations of every official” accountable for the pullout when in charge.
” Americans are sick of forever wars”, Thibeau said. ” They’re sick of the possibility that the conflicts in which the military fights might not be worthwhile, and that’s devastating to recruitment. It’s devastating to those who might have faith in their kids to fight.
The Army veteran noted that when Americans” say they want to join the military, they want to join an institution that is unique and genuinely based on merit and professionalism, and not politics and ideology like the rest of our culture.” He specifically emphasized the need to “restore integrity” to the Pentagon’s” senior class of officers”, and hold those who are “politicizing their service” accountable.
Numerous military officers promoted by President Joe Biden have used their positions to spread DEI and other leftist ideologies throughout the force, according to The Federalist. Other officials, such as former Joint Chiefs of Staff Chair Mark Milley, have openly attacked Trump. In his 2023 retirement speech, the general seemingly referred to the incoming commander-in-chief as a “wannabe dictator”.
Are we going to hold those responsible for politicizing their service? No one wants ]leaders who politicize their service], and those who]do ] should be held accountable for it”, Thibeau said.
Revitalizing Broken Infrastructure
The Trump administration’s final significant task will be updating how the Pentagon maintains an effective and adequate infrastructure.
Some military equipment developed for combat has recently experienced routine mechanical issues, which have cost taxpayers tens of billions of dollars in repairs and maintenance costs. Additionally, questions have popped up about how the Defense Department is spending its nearly$ 1 trillion annual budget. Last month, for instance, the agency revealed it failed its seventh annual audit in a row.
” We have to reform the entire way that the military does business and purchasing”, Thibeau said. ” We should get those]procurement ] programs out of the Pentagon]and to ] the warfighter level, and then we can have an understanding of what technology, what products, what services, perform best in the field”.
Sadler urged the incoming administration to “keep conducting” annual Pentagon audits, arguing that” the only way we’re gonna get better is to make it clear to the bureaucracy and the institutions that just because you failed this one, doesn’t mean we’re not gonna do it next year.” He also emphasized the value of eliminating the Pentagon’s bureaucracy when it comes to managing significant military infrastructure projects like Navy shipbuilding.
” The more that we can get the Navy, Pentagon, and politicians out of that process and enable good, sound engineering, the better”, Sadler said.
The size of America’s naval fleet and the country’s shipbuilding capacity have diminished significantly in recent decades. Congress has taken action as a result of concerns over its impact on long-term U.S. maritime power, with a bipartisan group of lawmakers introducing the SHIPS Act on Thursday. The bill “aims to reform the commercial maritime and shipbuilding sectors so that the United States can better compete with China,” according to U.S. Naval Institute News.
