The annual 12-team College Football Finals began this past weekend with the first round of play. The winners of each game faced one of the bottom four clubs on New Year’s Eve or New Year’s Day in four matches between the team ranked 5th through 12th in the finals.

Each of the higher-ranked team had a decided edge because the College Football Playoff Committee had set up the first round as a house match for each of the higher-ranked groups. This season’s games were two meltdowns and two clear victories, albeit close ones.
On Friday nights, Notre Dame trounced Indiana 27-17. On Saturday, Penn State decimated SMU 38-10, Texas handled Clemson 38-24, and Ohio State embarrassed Tennessee 42-17. The home team won all of these activities, and Penn State and Ohio State sports rank among the top 10 profits of success in college football playoff story.
” All four first-round matches were decided by double numerals”, writes Matt Baker at The Athletic. ” Over 120 combined second-half days, the tally was within one score for all of 55 minute”.
Some wags questioned whether the commission selected the winning team for the finals. It’s simple to say that Ole Miss ought to have been given a chance, and some people, of course, think the Crimson Tide may win the playoffs simply because they are Alabama.
According to Dan Lyons at SI.com,” Fans and members of college football’s punditry ( and Ole Miss coach Lane Kiffin ), largely from SEC country, have used the two results to refute the Hoosiers and Mustangs ‘ claims that they didn’t belong in the field after all.” ” There is certainly a possibility that Alabama, the second group out of the industry, would have performed better in South Bend or Happy Valley, although the Crimson Tide’s hard outings at 6–6 Vanderbilt and 6–6 Oklahoma don’t give much confidence”.

According to someone who goes by the name” Big Tennessee” at Barstool Sports,” To get to 12 groups, you’re always going to have to choose between those who don’t need to be in the Playoffs and those who will almost certainly find killed once they get there,”” The same people who complain about these games being spills may lose their minds.”
On the other hand, The Athletic’s Stewart Mandel posted on X,” I’m actually over all your’ Indiana/SMU shouldn’t have been in’ posts”.

I don’t own a puppy in the battle when it comes to any of the first-round game since my Georgia Bulldogs received a first-round farewell, but these weren’t persuasive activities. I’m wondering if the first-round house activities aren’t fair to the other team.
So here’s my reasonable plan for future postseason first-round games: instead of home activities for the higher-ranked groups, why don’t we have neutral-site game? Since we have too many bowl game now, we should have the best four clubs sponsor the neutral-site first-round game.
The committee may use a strange draw to choose which of the top four schools had variety which first-round sport, I assure you. The neutral site’s home team would still be the higher-ranked team, which may improve the natural team’s situation because some schools offer the visitors ‘ teams better locker room facilities.

The top four schools may receive a significant boost from hosting neutral-site games at their schools, which would also help those groups and their communities, generate tourism profits.
Meetings and members of the NCAA enjoy discussing equality and level the playing field, and this action may end some of the blowouts that we saw this weekend. Alas, nothing may hear. But a lover can dream, didn’t he?
