Sleigh bells are ringing all over Sandringham Estate as the royal family prepares for the holiday period. With Kate Middleton and King Charles both facing cancer treatments and ongoing conflicts with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the Windsors have had a difficult time.
But, the Princess of Wales has completed her treatment. King Charles, to, is making strides in his healing and has resumed some common activities.
Harry and Meghan may be invited to Sandringham, according to former royal smith Grant Harrold, who worked for Charles from 2004 to 2011.
” Under the late Queen Elizabeth II, it was customary for older royals, including the Prince and Princess of Wales, to spend Christmas at Sandringham. When Harry and Meghan chose not to attend a few years ago, it made articles”, Harrold explained.
He added that William and Kate have generally balanced this with day spent with Kate’s families, the Middletons, even though this tradition is expected to continue under King Charles.
Harrold suggested that given Kate’s new health problems, the couple may prioritise household this year. ” There’s even speculation that the Middletons could join the royals at Sandringham”, he added.
For years, the royal family has celebrated Christmas at Sandringham Estate in Norfolk, except during the COVID-19 crisis in 2020. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will assuredly reside near Sandringham’s Anmer Hall, their Norfolk house, according to Harry.
According to Harrold,” This allows them to spend time at Sandringham and church with the royal household in the morning before going back to Anmer Hall in the day for a more personal celebration with the Middletons,” according to Harrold, who was quoted by The Mirror US.
But, the Sussexes, Harry and Meghan, are unlikely to meet the events.
The King has made it very clear that he still wants them to feel like they are a part of the family, according to Harrold, adding that” they most probably did receive an invitation.
At present, the Sussexes live in Montecito, California, with their kids, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. Since stepping down as senior royals in 2020, their connection with the royal household has been strained.
” Although you never know, they may seem. If not this year, even next month. I do think that the marriage, at least behind closed doors, is improving. Therefore, an invitation will undoubtedly be extended to them,” the imperial smith said.
