This time, voters and politicians are increasingly turning to the Trump-inspired Republican Party. Both the government of Northern Mariana Islands and the governor-elect of American Samoa intend to join the GOP.

Governor-elect Pulaalii Nikolao Pula of American Samoa and Governor Arnold Palacios of the Northern Mariana Islands made their political choices known after Donald Trump and the Republicans won the 2024 vote overwhelmingly. Pula cited GOP “values of admiration for God, Country and Family”, while Palacios praised” President Trump and the Republican Party’s concept of liberty, opportunity, and strength”. Both rulers cited Trump in their assertions.
A Dec. 23 RNC transfer quoted Pula and Palacios, along with other Democratic leaders. Governor-elect Pula said,” It is clear to me that Republican Party values of respect for God, Country and Family are Samoan values” . ,
According to Pula, citing Republican politicians ‘ reform plans,” President Trump and the GOP’s impenetrable devotion to reforming the federal government along with growing the business will tremendously benefit American Samoa as we develop a relationship to develop a strong business here over the next four years.” The cheerful governor of American Samoa, whom Pula is replacing, is a Democrat.

Palacios, like Pula, finds the MAGA text appealing, and believes that he can best serve his components by joining the Republican Party. Samoan Congresswoman Amata Coleman Radewagen, who is also the RNC’s most older member, is another Republican who is excited by the general changes.
