According to authorities, a powerful blast on Tuesday killed 12 people and injured five people at an explosives factory in northern Turkey.

Local government Ismail Ustaoglu confirmed that the fire took position in the Karesi city of Balikesir state, saying,” According to initial reports, 12 workers died, and four additional were hospitalised with injuries”. He expressed sympathies, saying,” I wish God’s forgiveness upon our deceased residents and a quick healing to our wounded”.
Eventually, the wounded were increased to five, and officials made it clear that their injuries weren’t potentially lethal. No workers were inside the shop at the time of the explosion, according to authorities, and the fire had been put out.
The explosion, which took place at 8: 25am ( 0525 GMT ), caused part of the plant to collapse due to the force of the blast. Interior secretary Ali Yerlikaya stated that the cause of the explosion was still a mystery and that” we are trying to decide what caused it.”
