Following the release of a graphic video that depicts the simulated murder of a immigrant, Valentina Gomez, an American activist and real estate investor from Colombia, has sparked outrage nationwide. Gomez’s most recent ploy, which is renowned for her controversial statements and far-right rants, has sparked outrage and raised questions about the effect of extremist rhetoric in British politics.
Her picture comes after an illegal immigrant was accused of murder and fire after inciting an unidentified girl with gasoline on the New York City subway.
Who is Valentina Gomez
Born on May 8, 1999, in Medellín, Colombia, Gomez immigrated to the US with her home in 2009, settling in Jersey City, New Jersey. She first gained notoriety as a real estate investor, but according to the Daily Mail, it was her controversial stance that led to her entry into politics.
In 2024, she ran for Missouri Secretary of State, where she made stories for her controversial positions. Her plan included aggressive movies, such as one where she declared,” Don’t get weak and gay”, while running through an LGBTQ+ community in St. Louis, and another where she burned LGBTQ+ ebooks, calling them “grooming, indoctrinating, and sexualizing”. In the Republican primary, she received only 7.4 % of the vote, placing her fifth out of eight.
Gomez has continued to push her controversial opinions, frequently through social media, where she has been banned numerous times for breaking program rules. Her videos, which often tackle society combat issues such as LGBTQ+ rights and gun control, have made her a considerable figure in far-right lines.
The execution video and its aftermath
In her most recent popular videos, Gomez posted images of herself shooting a hooded fake, tied to a seat, in the back of the brain with a gun. ” Public deaths for any unlawful act that assaults or murders an American.” They don’t need imprisonment, they deserve to get ended”, she says in the picture. Due to the violent content, the clip was quickly censored by X ( previously Twitter ), but it persisted and was still popular on social media.
Some of Gomez’s supporters praised her, echoing her views about harsh justice for illegal immigrants, even though many decried the picture as encouraging assault and extremism. ” What is wrong with these people”? one commenter wrote, while others supported her visit for harsher methods.
After the film was restricted, Gomez took to her platform to defend her steps, saying,” My picture being restricted &, my bill getting held displays all of you that I am the biggest risk to the creation. I don’t need their money. Stay strapped”. She further stated that pedophiles should receive the same treatment, and that Congress should be criticized for its alleged inaction on pressing issues, according to the Daily Mail.
A history of controversial stances
This is not the first time Gomez has courted controversy. In February, she filmed herself burning LGBTQ+ books, vowing to ban similar literature if elected. She has also gained media attention for her incendiary remarks against transgender people, including a public attack on transgender activist Dylan Mulvaney, and her position on the 2020 election, which she believes was stolen from Donald Trump.
Gomez’s social media presence, marked by unapologetic declarations such as” Jesus is King. MAGA. America First”, has earned her both fervent supporters and staunch critics.
In addition to her provocative social media antics, Gomez’s political ambitions are far from over. She recently made an announcement to run for Congress in Texas, but she has yet to name the Republican incumbent she will challenge.
The broader impact
More extensive discussions have been sparked by Gomez’s rise regarding the impact of using inflammatory rhetoric against political figures and the role of social media in bolstering extremist views. While her supporters claim she speaks truth to power, many people fear that her style of politics is dangerously divisive, further polarizing the country.
Her actions have even had consequences for her family. After it was discovered that her brother, Jonathan Gomez, had donated to her campaign, he was fired from his position as a consultant to the mayor of Jersey City.
