Three suspected pirates were detained on Monday as a result of Spanish government ‘ seizure of seven plenty of cocaine found buried beneath a farm, according to CBS News.
Officials tracked two suspicious speedboats to a rural house close to Seville, and the Civil Guard initiated the procedure.
The medicines were hidden in two underwater sea cargo vessels at a plantation in Coria del Rio, a town west of Seville, where they were buried.
Authorities released video footage that shows officers excavating the earth and recovering dozens of plans of the reported heroin.
The Civic Guard confirmed that the speedboat-smuggled methamphetamine was the largest of its kind in southern Spain, and that it was the largest of its kind. Alongside the medicines, police even confiscated three weapons, including an AK-47 assault weapons, and two stolen cars.
Authorities spotted the two speedboats close to the Guadalquivir River’s mouth next year, which set off the procedure. The ships were tracked to the remote land, where the medicines were found hidden underwater.
Spain’s place near Morocco, a big supplier of hemp, and its relations to Latin American countries make it a key entry point for drug traffickers into Europe.
