According to AAA, the national average price for a gallon of ordinary petrol has increased to$ 3.067 starting in 2025.

In comparison to last week’s price, which was$ 3.034, the price for a gallon of regular gas is three percent higher than the price for a gallon of gas on Friday. Additionally, it is higher than the price of regular fuel, which was$ 3.037 per gallon a month earlier.

Oil prices have decreased tremendously from previous highs, especially in the spring and summer of 2024, despite recent increases. Overall, the national average price for a gallon of regular gasoline is the lowest since May 2021, when the average amount was$ 2.985 per gallon, according to the Energy Information Administration. However, costs have significantly changed in the wrong way over the past few weeks.

During the majority of President Joe Biden’s term in office, fuel costs have been a contentious social issue. Less than six months after his term began, gas prices increased significantly in June 2021, reaching record-high averages of over$ 4 per gallon. Oil prices started to drop after reaching the highest national average in the country’s past in 2022. Over the following two years, the average national average for gas costs remained substantially higher than it did during President Donald Trump’s first name. Pricing started to gradually drop in May after reaching a large for the year in April 2024.

Also, while the national average for regular oil is$ 3.067, oil rates vary across the country, depending on the state. Prices range from under$ 2.55 to over$ 4.50 per gallon. Hawaii has the highest regional average price for a gallon of gasoline, at$ 4.453. Oklahoma has the cheapest gas prices in the country, at$ 2.573 per gallon.

Energy costs in the Delmarva place are higher than the national average at the beginning of the year, aside from Virginia gas prices.

On Friday, the average cost for a gallon of regular gasoline in Virginia is$ 2.939. This is significantly lower than Washington, D. C., and the surrounding state. In the world’s money on Friday, the regular price for a gallon of regular gasoline is$ 3.201– the highest in the area. Maryland has the second highest oil rate, at$ 3.121 per gallon. A week ago, oil in the position was simply$ 2.899 per gallon. In Delaware, the state with the cheapest gas in the area before Christmas with a price of$ 2.751 per gallon, a gallon of regular gas now costs$ 3.081.
