'My wheelchair was completely bashed': Survivor of New Orleans attack recalls harrowing experience

Jeremi Sensky, a veteran of the deadly terrorist attack in New Orleans, has spoken about the terrifying ordeal from his hospital sleep.
Sensky, 51, has been paralyzed since a 1999 automobile accident when a white vehicle driven by Shamsud Din Jabbar struck him on New Year’s Day, killing 14 people in Bourbon Street as a result.
When the assault happened, Sensky was returning to his lodge after celebrating with friends and family. He recalled hearing a ‘ large noises’ before being forcefully ejected from his chair, getting near the vehicle wheels. ” I’m assuming I got hit by the vehicle, but actually, one’s always told me that, so I don’t know”, Sensky told NBC News. However, because my chair was entirely shredded and the pieces were scattered all over, something happened to me.
His daughter, Heaven Sensky Kirsch, confirmed to the Daily Mail that her father belonged to the chair that was found at the field.
Sensky described the ominous field as he lay on the ground. ” I only heard screaming and I heard gunfire”, he said. ” No one would come, and so I pushed myself on my up… Citizens were only staring at me as I yelled out for support. He added,” I kept asking for someone to help me and get me out of it, and it took a while. I realized it was a terrible scene.
His household grew worried when they don’t reach him. After seeing the media, they rushed to the hospital. Kirsch explained that Sensky had some injury, including a dark eye, road impulsive, and broken limbs. She claimed that “he was hit by the vehicle and thrown from his wheelchair… one of his arms had a bone sticking out that he watched as they saw off.”
Kirsch finds comfort in the thought that her husband’s heavy chair may have slowed the vehicle speed, potentially saving another life. She said,” I am telling myself that my husband’s large chair slowed down that weighty vehicle for a lot of people.
The United Cajun Navy gave Sensky a fresh chair, and the family has established a GoFundMe account to cover medical expenses. His daughter claims that the home is powerful because of her husband’s good attitude and love for life. ” He is so wonderful to get alive”, she said. My father is a warrior and enjoys the good life.
