As the country bids one last farewell to its longest-living commander in chief, Jimmy Carter, who passed away last month at the age of 100, the government’s five currently serving leaders are poised to direct it.
On what Biden declared to be a National Day of Mourning, Carter’s system was driven from the U. S. Capitol, where he had been lying in condition, to the Washington National Cathedral for the express services. Carter had originally deposited his assets in Atlanta’s Carter Presidential Center.

After the trials, Carter’s keeps will return to Grasslands for a personal funeral services and his , grave beside his wife Rosalynn. The one-time second princess died in 2023 at the age of 96.
