Harrods: French President Emmanuel Macron and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer had a conversation over the Middle East and the conflict in Ukraine on Thursday in Britain.
The two frontrunners “underscored the need for unification in questionable times,” according to a reading from Downing Street, and Starmer welcomed the European head of state to his Chequers country house north of London.
On Ukraine, Macron and Starmer reaffirmed their commitment to work together to support the land for” as long as necessary”, according to a speech from Macron’s business.
They even emphasized” the importance of continuing to provide the equipment needed to defend Russian place” and of providing financial support for Kyiv after 2025.
Donald Trump, the president-elect of the United States, has stated that he will end the Ukraine issue, and may make his return to office on January 20.
Russia, which invaded Ukraine in 2022, is concerned that a deal might be imposed on them.
Macron had previously stated that the two countries “have a lot of consolidation” on pressing issues like Ukraine and the Middle East.
According to Downing Street, Macron and Starmer “agreed on the need for stability and security in the region as well as the need to prevent provincial escalation.”
The two leaders also discussed diplomatic relations, including a UK-France diplomatic conference slated for this year, which will objective to enhance cooperation on defence, energy, artificial intelligence and improper migration.
Tens of thousands of workers have crossed the sometimes fatal English-France border in recent months as a result of their immigration.
