A senior US official announced Friday that incoming US president Joe Biden would deliver a wansong conversation on foreign policy following week claiming that the country is much stronger than it was when Donald Trump took office.
One month before he leaves the White House, Biden’s tackle at the state department is expected to show his efforts to strengthen NATO and defend Ukraine from Russian invasion.
He may also concentrate on efforts to expand US alliances in the Asia-Pacific place in an effort to combat climate change and a growing China.
” When President Biden entered company, our relationships had been terribly damaged”, a senior Biden administration official said on condition of anonymity.
President Biden did explain in his notes how our relationships and partnerships are the strongest they’ve ever been as a result of our efforts.
Biden continued to explain how he” stood with Israel when they were attacked,” but he did not mention any headway toward a peace agreement in Gaza.
In his last days as president and before Trump’s resumption of office on January 20, Democrat Biden, 82, is scheduled to deliver a wider farewell target, according to US media reviews.
Trump has now promised to resume the controversial international coverage from which he first served.
The businessman Republican has discussed meeting with Russia’s and China’s leaders in recent weeks and has pledged to put an end to the Ukrainian conflict by all means.
He has also insulted some of Washington’s closest friends by threatening to withdraw aid for Nato if other people do not, and is threatening to invade Greenland and Panama from their shores.
