ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf ( PTI ) founder Imran Khan moved the Lahore high court, requesting post-arrest bail in several May 9 cases lodged against him, ARY News reported.
Imran Khan pleaded guilty in his defense that he had nothing to do with the violence that broke out that day and was in the National Accountability Bureau ( NAB) custody in Islamabad on May 9. The PTI chairman described the situations that were registered against him as “political punishment.”
Imran Khan requested a post-arrest bail and claimed he had been subjected to “political abuse” and facing numerous “fabricated” scenarios for two years. After the Anti-Terrorism Court ( ATC ) rejected his bail plea in eight May 9 cases, including the Jinnah House attack, the PTI founder requested a high court in Lahore.
PTI leader said,” The ATC has rejected the loan applications, contrary to the details”. Aleema Khanum, Imran Khan’s sister, reported earlier that Aleema Khanum, the PTI founder, had chosen to bring his case before the International Human Rights Organization ( IHRO ).
Aleema Khan made the claim to reporters that Imran Khan was unable to converse with his children when she spoke to them outside the Adiala Jail. She further said,” He is not allowed to meet his physician, and this cure amounts to abuse”.
No jury is able to speak their petitions, according to Aleema Khan. She stated,” The PTI leader has stated that we have no other options left today.” She said Imran Khan plans to take his situation to international human rights companies, ARY News reported.
Rana Sanaullah, the special assistant to the Pakistani prime minister for democratic affairs, was the subject of Rana Sanaullah’s media event, she mentioned. Imran Khan’s girl said,” Our home is receiving threats and instructions”. She more said,” We have taken on a role as a home”.
Imran Khan’s arrest on May 9, 2023, sparked violent conflicts in Pakistan. The protests were held in remote and big towns as PTI employees were upset over the imprisonment of the group leader, with Balochistan, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Islamabad summoning the military forces to maintain law and order.
Army setups, including the Corps Commander’s residence in Lahore, were attacked during the protests held by PTI employees. Importantly, Imran Khan is named as the primary accused in the May 9 protests event.
